This blog post will be short and sweet. I just want to share a video with you. The video that has inspired me to believe in the way I have structured my crowdfunding campaign. With books, there are those who would do anything to help a book being born into the world. They are passionate about books. About writing. And they want to help authors. And they do. The price tag on a book does not matter. They want to have the first print in their hand. They want to hold it and they know that in order for that book to be born, someone must invest in it.
I have had the immense privilege of already encountering a few of these early adopters. They have invested in my book and shown me that I can believe in myself. And I want to dedicate this blog post to them and the many more that will come.
Others will question my choices. They will question how much I am asking for it. I have even had an author message me to tell me I could do things so much cheaper because they have. This was a hidden way to say they disapproved of me charging so much. And I don’t mind. There are a million ways to publish a book. Theirs. Mine. And many others. I don’t feel the need to justify myself. Some will understand. Others won’t. And I am ok with all of it. I just want to call in the early adopters. The ones that Simon Sinek talks about in his book. I am not appealing to those who will buy my book when it is published by a traditional publisher in three years time. I am not appealing to those who only buy books in charity shops or at the second hand store book. This is not my audience. Not today. Later.
So are you an early adopter? Are you passionate about my story? Do you think it MUST come out into the world? Watch this. Find out.
And if this is you: go to my campaign and preorder. Also come and tell me in my group on Facebook so that I can thank you in person.
